It’s an honor for me to serve as a principal of this prestigious institute. The SHED ION is a place that offers great and unique opportunities to grow personally and professionally in educating future skilled health workers, especially nurses for clinicals, academia, research and prospect nurse leaders.
The faculty of the institute is passionate about evidence-based, effective teaching that enhances student’s learning across all academic programs. Our focus is in consistently enhancing our academic programs. Our goal is to establish a student-centered learning environment that values diversity and inclusion, facilitates effective learning processes and collaborative decision-making, encourages open discussion that upholds academic freedom and fosters educational responsibility.
The Institute of Nursing has a strong, collaborative relationship with the SHED Hospital Nursing Division to support the institute’s missions of education, research and patient care. Our strategic goals and activities focus on ensuring nurses are best prepared in meeting health challenges and addressing the critical health needs of our population. We are also committed to provide innovative, high quality academic nursing programs to meet the health workforce needs for baccalaureate-prepared nurses, and nurse scientists who are equipped to address social determinants of health in the country, achieve the targets of sustainable development goals and universal health coverage of the government of Pakistan.
